I have more than ten years experience in all aspects of public relations and marketing communications as well as creative writing for business, consumer and internal audiences. Most recently serving as Media and Communications Manager for Gunther von Hagens’ record-breaking BODY WORLDS 3 exhibition at the Saint Louis Science Center, I work with organizations of all types to help them achieve their communications and media relations objectives, while freelance writing for several area media outlets including the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, West Newsmagazine and Playbackstl.com.
A lifelong writer, I began my public relations career at the St. Louis office of Weber Shandwick Worldwide, the world’s largest public relations agency, where I spent four years on the PR front lines, honing my skills with the national media on such major accounts as Miller Brewing Company, The Scotts Company lawn and garden manufacturers, Nestle Purina and the Federal Reserve Bank.
After leaving my training ground at Weber Shandwick, I spent two years managing all marketing and communications for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society – Gateway Area Chapter, developing strong relationships with the local and regional media through large-scale fundraising events and client programs. I then returned to the agency world as an Account Supervisor in the public relations division of Adamson Advertising, focusing on both business-to-business and consumer PR accounts, as well as new business efforts. I also served as PR Manager for Maritz, Inc., overseeing PR initiatives for multiple business units of this $1.27 billion revenue private company.
A graduate of the University of Missouri – Columbia with a bachelor’s degree in English/Creative Writing, I completed my master’s degree in Media Communications – Public Relations at Webster University, graduating with honors.
